We encourage and look forward to the contributions of all SASS members in a variety of ways as we embark to shape the lives of those affected by autism in a positive and meaningful way.
The SCAC embraces all forms of the arts: visual arts (painting, sculpture, fabric art, pottery, glass, photography etc); performing arts (theatre groups, choirs, orchestras, dance etc.) and any other forms of art which may present themselves. Membership is encouraged from all walks of life. Not only are artists welcome but any member of the community who appreciates artistic endeavours and who can actively contribute to the arts community as a whole. Become a SCAC member and support the arts in your community. The boundaries of SCAC, through our affiliation with the BC Arts Council, extend from Port Renfrew, Jordan River, Shirley, Otter Point, Sooke and East Sooke. The Sooke Community Arts Council is a registered Not for Profit Society funded by the BC Arts Council and the District of Sooke.
The mandate and purpose of the Sooke Arts Council is
– to encourage creative participation in and excellence in the arts
– to encourage the development of opportunities to perform and exhibit the arts
– act as a clearing house for information on the arts
– to bring to the attention of local, regional, provincial and federal authorities the artistic needs of the community

Sooke Family Resource Society has been serving the greater Sooke community since 1984, and the Westshore and surrounding areas since 2004.
We provide services to community members through the following programs:
- Prenatal education and outreach
- Family support
- Parent-child drop in groups
- Child Care Resource and Referral
- Licensed preschool
- Outreach for teens and young adults with mental health, addiction or other challenges
- Low cost counselling for individuals, couples, families and children
- Outreach and community inclusion for adults with developmental disorders
- Home Share program for persons with developmental disorders
- Parenting supports for families with children in the care of the Ministry of Children and Family Development
- Free Clothing Exchange
- Free toy and book lending library

The Sooke Fine Arts Society is a non-profit organization created to encourage and promote a greater understanding and appreciation for the arts by organizing an annual art show, as well as hosting public learning opportunities to demonstrate artistic technique and expertise. The annual art show, held the end of July and early August of each year, is Vancouver Island’s premier adjudicated art show. It brings artists, volunteers, visitors and art patrons together in an 11-day celebration of the arts.

We enjoy fellowship, develop leadership skills and dedicate part of our time to helping those in need - while making our individual communities a better place in which to live.
